  • Obituary: Fred V. Grover who has lived in the Bagley vicinity during the past fifteen year passed away Sunday evening at his home in Bagley. Mr. Grover had been failing in health for the past ten years. On July second of this summer he was taken suddenly worse and has been confined to his bed until the time of his decease. Funeral services were held at the Congregational chuch Wednesday afternoon with Spencer Bower in charge. Interment was made in the Bagley Cemetery. The Peterson Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Grover was born July 18, 1879 at Mankato, Minnesota. His boyhood and youth was spent in that city up until the time he was sixteen years of age. At this time farm work took him into counties north of his home community, Grant and finally Ottertail County. In the year of 1900 he was married to Miss Mabel Burns at Fergus Falls. Later in that same year they moved to Park Rapids where they made their home for several years. Following their stay in Park Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. Grover and family removed to Minneapolis for a short time after which they returned for a season to Grant County. It was then that they decided to come into this community in which they have been for some fifteen years. Following a year's stay in Bemidji they came to Cleawater County in 1924. Those left to mourn his passing of his immediate family are: his wife, Mrs. Fred Grover of Bagley; five sons, Donavan of Ashby, Minnesota, Thomas of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, Wilfred and Fred of Bagley, Clare of Austin, Minnesota; three daughters, Mrs. Palmer Johnson of Austin, Mrs. Arnold Higdem of Bagley, and Marie of Bagley. Also, there are eleven grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ada Masterson of Bemidji, and Mrs. Jerry Fortner of International Falls; one brother, Len Grover of Park Rapids. There are lidewise many neighbors and friends who will mourn his death.
