Riggs, 90, passed away at the Clearwater Memorial Hospital in Bagley on Friday, March 26th, 1971. Mrs. Riggs was born September 8, 1880, in Ashby, Minnesota to parents George and Willamina Burns. She grew up in the Ashby area and was married to Fred Grover. They moved to Park Rapids for a time, then back to Ashby area and then to Bemidji. In 1926 the Grovers moved to the Bagley area where Mrs. Riggs has loved since. Mr. Grover passed away in September of 1939. She was married to Milton Swenson in 1942 and Mr. Swenson was killed in 1950. She was married to Harry Riggs on July 18, 1952. Survivors include her husband Harry of Bagley and the following children: Donovan Grover of Ashby; Thomas Grover of Menomonie Falls, Wisconsin; (Agnes) Mrs. Palmer Johnson of Anna Cortez, Washington; Wilfred Grover of Richville, Minnesota; (Myrtle) Mrs. Arnold Higdemof Bagley and (Maris) Mrs. William Jones of Edcanidto, California. Three brothers survive: Jay Burns of Centuria, Wisconsin; Fred Burns of Evansville, Minnesota and Archie Burns of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota. Thirty three grandchildren and many great grandchildren survive. Mrs. Riggs was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, two sons, four brothers and one sister. Funeral services were held at the Congregational Church in Bagley on Tuesday, March 30th at 2 p.m. The Rev. Burnell Bentz officiated and burial was made in the Bagley City Cemetery under the direction of the Cease Funeral Home of Bagley.
