He was baptized, confirmed and attended school in the area. Ernest also worked in Urness Township for a while before moving to Minneapolis and becoming employed as a carpenter. He lived in Minneapolis for most of his adult life. Ernest was married on June 26, 1940, to Elsie Burns in Grant County, Minnesota. His children will always remember him as a kind and patient father and the many hours spent on early morning fishing trips. Ernest will be sadly missed by his friends and large family and his memory lovingly cherished. He died on Sunday, October 11, 1981, at the North Memorial Hospital in Minneapolis at the age of 66 years. He is survived by his sons: Roger Logan of Lowry, Robert Logan of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, Charles Logan of Cyrus, James Logan of Elk City, Oklahoma, John Logan of Cyrus, Dale Logan of Starbuck, Dean Logan of Alexandria and LaVern Logan of Sayre, Oklahoma; daughters, Darlene Lillis of Perham, Carol Welu of Sunberg, Marie Orre of Maple Grove, Delores Kvitek of Glenwood and Betty Dandurand of Hazel Run, Minnesota; brothers, Milton Logan of Virginia and John and Lester Logan of Minneapolis; sisters, Ellen Elberling of California, Linda Wills of Spring Lake Park, and Florence Wuollet of Starbuck. Ernest was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter, two brothers and one sister. Funeral services were Wednesday, October 14, 1981 at 2:00 p.m. from the Finnish Apostolic Church of Urness Township with Rev. George Wilson officiating. Interment was in the Finnish Apostolic Cemetery of Urness Township, Minnesota. Pallbearers were his eight sons.
