Notes

  • Obituary: Carol Jane Torgerson was born April 10, 1944 at home in the community of Pomme de Terre in Grant County in MN. She was the daughter of Ernest and Elsie (Burns) Logan. She grew up in and attended school in many areas, to include Elbow Lake, Ashby, Hoffman, Lowry, and Glenwood. Carol worked cleaning houses, waitressing, and in the laundry department at various businesses in Minneapolis, Glenwood, Brooten, and Sunburg. On December 29, 1983, Carol was united in marriage to Roger Torgerson. They enjoyed life on the farm in rural Sunburg, Minnesota, and especially appreciated the wildlife, the rolling hills, and the fact that they could see Lake Johanna Hill from their picture window every day. Carol was a member of Sunburg Free Lutheran Church and enjoyed helping the ladies in the kitchen and at bazaars in the past. Carol enjoyed much of what life had to offer. Her hobbies included gardening, canning, collecting deer and owl ornaments, going to rummage sales, playing bingo, motorcycling (in her younger years), hunting deer (also in her younger years), and playing cards. Carol liked to be around other people, and will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, loyalty, honesty, friendly smile, and positive attitude. Carol died Thursday, January 12, 2017, at St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, MN. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, January 18th at Hope Lutheran Church in Sunburg, with interment in the Sunburg Free Lutheran Cemetery.
