He was a retired lobster fisherman, lumberman, stevedore and seaman. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Joan Beaman, Parrsboro; three sons, Francis, Parrsboro; Robert, New York; Gary, Halifax; sister, Mrs. Irene Gruber, Flordia; brother, Melvin, Parrsboro; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Annie Anderson; daughter, Audrey; son, Douglas; five sisters; two brothers. The body is in Smith's Funeral Home, Parrsboro, visiting 7-9 p.m. today, 2-4, 7-9 Sunday. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday in St. George's Anglican Church, Parrsboro, Rev. John Swain officiating.
