Born in Parrsboro Roads, he was a son of the late Reginald and Annie (Anderson) Willigar. Earlier in his life, he worked on ships on the Saint John River, transporting pulpwood. He also worked on lumber ships in Parrsboro and more recently was a self-employed lobster fisherman for many years. He is survived by his sister, Joan Beaman (Joe Canning), Parrsboro; brothers, Robert (Pat), Franklin, Me.; Gary (Bernadette), Parrsboro Roads; brother-in-law, Leo Chappell, Kingston, Ont.; nieces, Cindy Chappell and Linda Willigar; nephews, Leo and James Chappell; Robert, Wayne and Trevor Willigar, Larry and David Beaman. He was predeceased by sister, Audrey Chappell and brother, Douglas. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. today in Smith's Funeral Home, Parrsboro. Funeral service 2 p.m. Thursday in St. George's Anglican Church, Parrsboro, Rev. Mark Pretty officiating. Burial in Christ Church Cemetery, Parrsboro Roads. No flowers by request. Memorial donations may be made to the St. George's Anglican Church Restoration Fund, L.A. Animal Shelter or a charity of choice."
