Joan '96 Age 82, of Parrsboro passed away peacefully on Monday, January 31, 2022 at the Infirmary Site, QEII, Halifax. Born in Parrsboro, she was a daughter of the late Reginald and Annie (Anderson) Willigar. Joan was a retired school teacher having taught at Parrsboro Regional Elementary School most of her career. She was an active community member, and was a dedicated member of St. George's Anglican Church, Parrsboro, serving on numerous committees. She is survived by her sons, Larry, Halifax; David, Parrsboro; a brother, Gary, Alberta; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; as well, her loyal canine companion, Olivia. She was predeceased by her companion, Lloyd 'Joe' Canning; a sister, Audrey; brothers, Francis, Robert and Douglas in infancy. All are invited to attend a funeral service on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at 2pm in St. George's Anglican Church, Parrsboro, Rev. Dr. Brian Spence officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.
