Obituary: Beaman, I. Joan '96 Age 82, of Parrsboro passed away peacefully on Monday, January 31, 2022 at the Infirmary Site, QEII, Halifax. Born in Parrsboro, she was a daughter of the late Reginald and Annie (Anderson) Willigar. Joan was a retired school teacher having taught at Parrsboro Regional Elementary School most of her career. She was an active community member, and was a dedicated member of St. George's Anglican Church, Parrsboro, serving on numerous committees. She is survived by her sons, Larry, Halifax; David, Parrsboro; a brother, Gary, Alberta; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; as well, her loyal canine companion, Olivia. She was predeceased by her companion, Lloyd 'Joe' Canning; a sister, Audrey; brothers, Francis, Robert and Douglas in infancy. All are invited to attend a funeral service on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at 2pm in St. George's Anglican Church, Parrsboro, Rev. Dr. Brian Spence officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. George Anglican Church, Parrsboro.
