  • Obituary: WILLIGAR, Robert M. "Bob" - 75, Franklin, Me., passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 19, 2005, in Ellsworth Hospital in Maine. Born in Parrsboro, he was the son of the late Reginald and Annie (Anderson) Willigar. Bob was a tireless worker. He valued hard work and providing for his family. He had worked as a fisherman on lumber boats, held various positions as a factory worker and worked as a cargo elevator operator. He proudly served his country as a corporal in the United States Army from 1951-1953. He was a medic in the Korean War, and he was a member of the American Legion Post No. 207 in Trenton. During his life, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and his favorite pastime was playing Bingo. He is survived by Patricia (Gould) Willigar, his beloved wife of 50 years; his children, Robert, Wayne and Linda; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Joan Beaman, Parrsboro; brother, Gary, Parrsboro Roads. He was predeceased by sister, Audrey Chappell; brothers, Douglas and Francis. Funeral services will be held today in Maine. Burial will take place in the spring in Maine. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice (Halifax Chronicle Herald, 23 Mar 2005).
