Born January 6, 1931 in Pleasant Valley, she was a daughter of the late Allen and Eleanor (Nellie Johnson) Carter. Her married life was spent in Green Oaks raising her children, Gloria (Gary) Robichaud, Valerie Mombourquette (Wilson), Darlene (George) Harrington, Roger (Norma) Collins, all of Truro, Donna Collins (Kevin), Pleasant Valley, Connie (Wade) Langille, Princeport, Gregory Collins, Green Oaks; daughter-in-law, Eva Collins, Truro. She will always be remembered by her beloved sister, Sylvia Carter; grandchildren, Norma, Allan, Karen, Johnny, Joey, Michael, Jeffery, Richard, Krista, Nicole, Jason, Alannah, Holly; nine great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; special niece, Amanda and her son Quinton who also called her grammie. She was predeceased by husband, Donald; son, Richard; brothers, Thomas, Brenton, Wendell ; sisters, Myrtle, Jessie, Beatrice. Mom loved to dance and until last year you would find her at Gary's or Kenny's dances. Our family really appreciated Kenny and Lois and Gary and Shirley for taking her to the dances and suppers which she enjoyed so much. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 29 from 7-9 pm; funeral service on Saturday, June 30 at 2 pm both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with Rev. Ian Harrison officiating. Interment in Lower Pleasant Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lower Pleasant Valley Cemetery or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
