(Hoyt) Colpitts, age 89, of Timson Street, Lynn, died on Saturday, September 3, 2022. She was the wife of the late Donald F. Colpitts, Sr., with whom she shared 70 years of marriage and predeceased her in December of 2020. Born in Revere, in 1932, she was the daughter of the late Henry J. and Josephine (Conley) Hoyt. She was raised in Lynn and attended Lynn Public Schools. Lydia worked as a cake decorator at the former Cushman's Bakery for many years, where she met her husband. She was later employed as a housekeeper in Marblehead, Nahant and Lynnfield and was a banquet waitress for Shaw's and Witham's Caterers. She enjoyed her cats and dogs and her home on Timson Street for over 60 years and supported her husband and his endeavors including the Stetson Home and the Neighborhood Improvement Association. Lydia is survived by her son David H Colpitts of Lynn and daughter Lisa L. Hill of Lynn; her beloved grandchildren, Dawn-Marie Colpitts and her husband Ben of Lynnfield, Jason Colpitts and his wife Candy of Lynn, Jared Colpitts and Gail Colpitts of Lynn, Jennifer Cronin of NH and Matthew Hill of FL; her adoring great-grandchildren Alex and Michael Darwish and her loving nieces Kathy and Cheryl. She was the mother of the late Donald F. Colpitts, Jr. and Mark J. Colpitts and sister of the late Henry J. Hoyt, Jr., who lost his wife and 2 children Christopher and Lauralynn, in a tragic house fire in 1978 and the late Henry J. Hoyt, III, who died in a car accident in 1994.
