Notes

  • Obituary: ROSS, Ronald Theodore - 1934 - 2008, passed away peacefully October 5, 2008, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Tatamagouche, December 6, 1934, he was a son of the late Bernie and Annie (Reid) Ross. In his younger years, he moved to Ontario and worked in the construction business. While in Ontario, he met and fell in love with his loving wife, Patricia. They married June 18, 1956, and moved to Tatamagouche where he continued to work in construction around Nova Scotia. Ronnie will be remembered as a kind and gentle man who would lend a helping hand to anyone that needed it and for telling stories whether at home or on the street or for being seen around the village with his dog Jo-Jo who he loved dearly. At home he found much comfort in his garage where he would fix things or break something to fix. He bought a boat and loved to row it in the bay behind the house and got much enjoyment from telling these stories. Ronnie had a great loving family, his children and grandchildren loved him dearly and they will miss seeing his beautiful blue eyes and the dimple in his chin. Patricia will be lost without him. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann (Thistle); his children, Sandy (Marie), Scott (Eleanor), Michael (Karen), all of Kindersley, Sask; Sheldon (Sandra), Kindersley and Tatamagouche; Ronda, Halifax; 19 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sister, Leota Murphy (Cecil). Owen Sound, Ont; nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his eldest sons, Bernard and Arnold; sisters, Bernice Hayman and Jean Ferguson; brother, Claire. Visitation will be held today from 7-9 p.m. and funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 7, Rev. Morley Bentley officiating.
