After a long hard battle with cancer she has lost her fight and passed away peacefully in her home on November 4, 2010, with her loving husband by her side. She will be lov-ingly missed and always remembered by her husband of 38 years, James Riggs; daughter, Amanda (Matt) and son, Jason (Jodi); stepdaughter, Shelly (Paul); her beloved grandchildren, Ri-ley, Makayla and Shyla, and step grandchildren, Timmothy, Vanessa and Amy. Predeceased by her mother, Shirley LeFresne. Survived by her fa-ther, Andrew Watson (Jean); brothers, Brian Watson (Ruth), Paul Watson (Ja-net); sisters, Andrea Little (Dann), Terri Franklin; and several close niec-es and nephews. Born on June 21, 1953 in Halifax, she was raised in Windsor Junction, and raised her own family in Beaver Bank. With her strong will and determination she continued her edu-cation in her adult years, working full time and going to school part time at Mount St. Vincent University, com-pleting her Bachelor of Business Ad-ministration with a major in Account-ing on May 8, 1992. She was an employ-ee of Nova Scotia Power for 12 years. She occupies a special place in the hearts of many, both young and old. A special extended thank you goes out to all the people at Victorian Order of Nurses, Northwood and Red Cross for all their special care for Marilyn.
