Born in Richmond, Cumberland Co., he was a son of the late MacLellan ""Mac"" and Margaret (Tattrie) Cole. Ernie lived in the Tatamagouche area where he worked in the woods and later became a well-known carpenter. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, the former Elsie Tattrie; daughter, Eleanor Clark (Bill), Comox, B.C.; son, Wendell (Janet), Tatamagouche; grandchildren, Shelley, Scott, Coralee (Joe), Terry (Julie), Sandy; greatgrandchildren, Bailey, Bryanna, Braycen; sisters, Muriel Hillier (Gordon), Tatamagouche; Phyllis Sutherland (Bill), Calgary; brother, Willis (Marion), Tatamagouche; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with funeral service Wednesday at 2 p.m., Rev. Bonnie Kelly officiating, both in Coulter's Funeral Home, Tatamagouche. Interment to take place in Lockerby Memorial Cemetery, Tatamagouche. Family flowers only.
