  • Obituary: MacEACHERN, C. Harold - West Tatamagouche, Colchester Co., died May 15, 1999 in Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Tatamagouche. Born in Halifax, he was the adopted son of the late Charles Humberston and Agnes (Clark) MacEachern. For many years he had worked for Dover Turnbull Elevator Company as an elevator mechanic and was a member of the International Union of Elevator Constructors, Local 105 and retired in 1983. He enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Tatamagouche seniors league. He was an avid birdwatcher and also enjoyed spending time gardening and reading. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving are his wife, the former Joyce Cochrane; son, Myles (Janice) MacEachern, St. Stephen, N.B.; daughters, Patricia Mammela, White Rock, B.C.; Kelley (Don) Jamieson, Berwick; son, Paul (Bonnie Johnson), Upper Stewiacke; grandchildren, Becky, Kristopher, Justin, Jason, Joshua, Ryan, Jennifer, Carrie, Charles and Chance. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Wilfred; sisters, Jean MacEachern and Elsie MacAuley-Langille; stepbrother, Seaman MacEachern; stepsisters, Bella Huttoon, Henrietta "Etta" Clark, Jannie Coulter and Cassie Mac-Eachern. Visitation will be today 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Coulter's Funeral Home, Tatamagouche. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Sharon United Church, Tatamagouche, Rev. Bonnie Kelly officiating. Burial in the Bayhead Union Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to North Shore Health Services Foundation or The Children's Wish Foundation.
