He was a son of the late Urias Willigar and Vivian (Porter) Willigar Tupper. Ernie worked for Cumberland Paving for many years doing various paving jobs. He was a maple and blueberry producer and also a member of the United Church of Canada. Surviving in addition to his wife Hazel (Estabrooks) are sister Dorothy Niles of Truro, NS, step-daughters Catherine (Ken) Chapman of Oshawa, ONT,,and Angela (Troy) Wallace of Lawerancetown, NS, step-sons Stephen (Audrey) Cole of Springhill, NS and Danny Cole of Midland, ONT, half-sister Irene (Maurice) Hickey of Halifax, NS, Half-brothers Eldon (Shirley) Porter of Amherst Head, NS, Rev. Morley (Margaret) Bentley of Tatamagouche, NS and Stanley (Jean) Tupper of Powell River, BC, four step-grandsons and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Ernie was predeceased by his sister Joyce Harrison and his brother William Willigar. By his request, cremation has taken place and a graveside committal will take place in the spring in the Mapleton Cemetery. Donations may be made to the charity of donor’s choice.
