  • Obituary: MATTATALL, Logan H. - 74, 97-B Queen St., Truro, died February 25, 1993, in Glenview Lodge, Truro. Born in Westchester Station, Cumberland County, he was a son of the late Spencer L. and Matilda (O'Brien) Mattatall. He was a licensed embalmer and funeral director, owning and operating Mattatall Funeral Home, Truro, for many years. He was an honorary and life member of Nova Scotia Licensed Embalmers and Funeral Director's Association; member and former elder of the First United Church, Truro; member and past master of Fellowship Lodge 112 AF and Am G.R.N.S.; 32nd degree Mason of the Scottish Rite Lodge, Valley of Halifax, where he took an active part in the drama program; member of Phoenix Lodge IOOF and charter member of Kinsmen and K-40 Clubs, Truro, where he held various offices. Before his illness, he was active curler and boating enthusiast. He is survived by his wife, the former Eva Brown; son, Spencer, Bible Hill; two daughters, Heather (Mrs. Craig Bowyer), Calgary; Brenda (Mrs. Joe Topshee), Truro; three stepsons, Michael Babineau, Jack Babineau, Stephen Babineau, all of Truro; three sisters, Marion Giddens, Great Village; Margaret Parker, Kentville; Harriet (Mrs. Murray Lavers), Bible Hill; six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, the former Alice White. The body is in Mattatall Funeral Home, Truro, visiting 7-9 p.m. today, where a masonic service will be 7 p.m. today. Funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday in First United Church, Rev. Chalmers Hatcher officiating, assisted by Rev. Whitney Dalrymple. Burial will be in Robie Street Cemetery, Truro. Family flowers only.
