  • Obituary: William Brockhoff, 78, died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002, at North Bay Medical Center in Fairfield following a brief illness. He was born Feb. 28, 1924, in Napa and was a resident of Vacaville. Mr. Brockhoff was a graduate of Napa High School. A long-time resident of Napa County, he maintained businesses as a master carpenter and furniture maker, as well as a real estate broker and horse rancher. Mr. Brockhoff loved playing golf and fishing. As a second generation native of Napa, he was well versed in the history of Napa Valley and the surrounding counties. He enjoyed his family, raising horses and building his own custom homes with his wife of 38 years. He is survived by his wife, two sisters, three children and four grandchildren. Polly H. Brockhoff, wife of Vacaville; Linda Morrison, daughter, Anchorage Alaska, and her sons, Cameron and Jamison; Stephen Cogswell, son, Vallejo, and his son, Tim; Kenneth Cogswell, son, Walnut Creek, and his daughter, Lauren; sisters, Jeanne Macedo of Modesto and her children, Dan, Anita and Pam, and Shirley Hogge of Garland, Texas, and her children, Julie, Amy and Nancy. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, August and Florence Brockhoff. At his request, no formal funeral services will be held. Inurnment with an informal family service will be held Saturday, Sept. 14, at St. Helena Cemetery. In lieu of floral arrangements, contributions may be made to any Alzheimer's research organization, or to a charity of the donor's choice. Napa Valley Register Napa,CA September 12, 2002
