Houston of Plainfield died Tuesday at Westpark Healthcare Center. She was 99. Born Oct. 23, 1911, in Morehead, Minn., she was a daughter of the late Theophile and Catherine Devine Gravelle. Mrs. Houston was a homemaker and a member of the Plainfield United Methodist Church. Survivors include grandchildren Jeanine DeLashmit, Brenda Welker, Mary Beth Yancy, Alice Abney, and Greg Watts; 12 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her children, Jean Watts and Sheldon Houston. Graveside services are 2 p.m. Thursday at Spring Hill Cemetery in Cartersburg.
