  • Obituary: Richard A. Miller went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 7, 2017. Richard was born June 23, 1929 in Strattanville. He was the son of the late Harold and Letha Conner Miller. On September 9,1948 he married the love of his life, Evelyn J. "Tootie" Corbett who preceded him in death. Richard was employed at "Grass O" Coal Co. and then at Owens Illinois Glass Plant of Clarion where he retired August 1989 after 37 years. His hobbies were reading, going to auctions, gardening, yard work, and feeding birds; but most of all spending time with his family. Richard was a member of the Cornerstone Church of Clarion. He is survived by his children; Betty Henry and husband Carter of Strattanville, Kathy Oakes and husband Jim of Brownsburg, Indiana, Sandy Shook Wikander and husband Dan of Sligo, Don Miller and wife Beth of Pittsburgh, and Carol Ann Miller of Strattanville, whom he resided with. He has been blessed with 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers; Jack Miller and wife Peggy of Orlando, Florida, Charles "Chick" Miller and wife Kate of Shippenville and Ron Miller of Sligo; one sister in law, Thelma Miller of Harington, Delaware and a number of nieces and nephews. Richard is preceded in death by his parents, wife and a son; Robert "Spade" Miller; a son in law, Larry Shook. Four brothers; Avery, Bill, Emery and one infant brother Bobby and three sisters; Rosie Bowser, Beverly Redwick and Marilyn Moriarty. Visitation will be held on Thursday August 10, 2017 from 2pm to 4 pm and 6pm to 8pm at the Robert V. Burn Funeral Home in Clarion and also 10am to 11am Friday August 11, 2017 at the Cornerstone Church in Clarion with funeral services to follow with Pastor John Green presiding.
