  • Obituary: WAGNER, Ralph Eugene - Port Royal. Born March 22, 1921, currently of Port Royal, died July 18, 2006, in North Hills Nursing Home, Granville Ferry. Born in Berwick [sic], he was a son of the late Clifford Ray and Sarah (Burns) Wagner. He was raised in Karsdale by his foster parents, Arthur and Hannah Baxter. He spent most of his life self-employed operating Wagner Construction Ltd. and Wagner Tire Sales and Service. Ralph and Marguerite purchased the O'Dell House in Annapolis Royal and became cofounders of the Historic Restoration Enterprises. He was a member of the Annapolis Historical Association, the Valley Stamp Club and, in his retirement years, was active in the Valley Senior Games. He was a charter member of Habitation Baptist Church, and was on the deacons board for many years. He had a love for music and during his retirement years, he was involved in local musical "jam sessions". He is survived by daughters,Ramona (Gerald) Mitchell, Moncton, N.B.; Dorothy (Richard) Boudreau, Port Royal; granddaughter and great-granddaughter and great-grandson, brothers, Lawrence (Tracey), Kentville, and Douglas (Carol), Wolfville; sisters, Vera Brinton, Port Lorne; Dorothy (Vangie) Clark, Berwick; Marjorie Brewster, New Minas; Betty (Phillip) Hopkins, Aylesford; Doris O'Brien, Toronto, Ont.; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by wife of 59 years, Marguerite; brother, Clifford; sisters, Anna and Eleanor. No visitation by family request. Funeral service will be held Thursday, July 20, at 2 p.m. in Habitation Baptist Church, Rev. Mark Baker officiating. Interment will follow in Wadeville Cemetery, Granville Centre.
