  • Obituary: Sanford'96Mailman, Olive Nancy, 88 of Stellarton, formerly of Middleton, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of family on January 13, 2016 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, following a brief illness. Born in Tremont, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Annie Rawle. Olive was employed for many years with Eaton's Catalogue Sales in Greenwood/Kingston and The Metropolitan Store Offices Greenwood. She loved being a Mary Kay Consultant, which she did for 10 years prior to retirement. The thing she loved most was nurturing others whether you arrived at her home at noon or midnight, there was tea or coffee and something to eat prepared in minutes. She loved a house full and a full table for a meal and her times with friends and family in Florida, Trout Lake and Port George. She is survived by sons Jim (Doreen) Sanford, Hamilton, Ont. and Roger (Cathy) Sanford Alma, NS; stepson, John Mailman, Dartmouth NS; stepdaughter, Debbie Mailman, Bridgewater, NS; sister, Frances (Kenneth) Keddy, Greenwood NS; brother, Douglas (Alice) Rawle, Berwick NS; chosen daughter, Sharon Sanford, Bridgewater NS; brothers -in-law Shirley (Kay) Sanford, Kingston, NS; Raymond (Elaine) Sanford, Trout Lake, NS; Wayne (Celeste) Sanford, New Minas, NS; sisters-in-law, Erdeena Sanford, Kentville, NS and Jean Webster, Ottawa, Ont. Twelve grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents Olive was predeceased by her 1st husband, the true love of her life, Freeman Sanford; infant daughter, Nancy; 2nd husband Ronald Mailman; step daughter, Noël Geddes; sister, Joan (Gordon) Sheridan; brother, Bernard (Frances) Rawle; infant sister, Ruth Rawle and brother-in-law, Ralph Sanford. At Olive's request cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service was held on Sunday January 17, 2016 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St. 902-825-3448 with Rev Bill McLeod Officiating. Interment will be in the Tremont Cemetery. By request, family flowers only.
