Craig was the husband of the late Barbara J. (Madden) Medeiros, Hyannis. Barbara and Craig were baptized, confirmed, wed and proud parishioners at St. Francis Xavier Church in Hyannis. They were married nearly 50 years. He was the son of the late John Caton Medeiros and the late Geraldine (Phinney) Medeiros; brother to Eleanor (Medeiros) Hostetter and her late husband Vincent "Skip" Hostetter of Osterville and brother to Paul Medeiros and his wife Linda of Gray Gables. Father to Donna M. Medeiros, Hyannis; Father to Kevin J. Medeiros and his wife Helyne E. (Cooper) Medeiros, and their children Nathan J. and Kyler C., all of Marstons Mills; Father to Marcia Medeiros Cameron and her husband Jeffrey B. Cameron, and their children Parker M. and Austin J. of West Yarmouth. Uncle to four nieces and two nephews. Being born and raised in Hyannis was a source delight for Craig. Craig graduated from Barnstable High School in 1955 and attended Wentworth Institute of Technology. He served in the Army National Guard and from 1958-1961 was a volunteer fire fighter for the Hyannis Fire Department. Craig was working at a very young age delivering milk for Linnell's Dairy and in 1957 founded his drainage, sewage, and heavy equipment business. He later expanded his business with commercial rental properties and was forward thinking in opening J.C.M. Metal Recycling, Inc. J. Craig and work were synonymous. He was very proud Elk, delighted with his honorary life membership (number 1) of the Hyannis Elks B.P.O.E. #1549 and was an active member from building floats, to building the member's lounge, to being a founding member of the 100 Club. He possessed a vast knowledge of all construction forms and knew the right way to solve a construction problem. For weekends and vacations, he loved going to Forestdale to enjoy the pond and to Conway, N.H. to watch his children ski and family Thanksgivings with his siblings, mother, nieces and nephews. He loved a good meal and, with his wife, enjoyed various local spots. Some of his memorable accomplishments were taking care of his mother and family, holding a master's builder's license with zero restrictions, and possessing a Class A license, enabling him to run any piece of equipment. Through the Cape Irish Children's Program the Medeiros family hosted a Northern Ireland youth for many years; Brian was part of the family. Craig is most remembered for being a proud father and grandfather, mechanically inclined and being generous to anyone in need. He loved his wife and openly extolled her goodness. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, March 1st from 4:00 - 7:00p.m. in the John-Lawrence Funeral Home, 3778 Falmouth Rd. (Rte. 28), Marstons Mills.
