  • Obituary: Former Alaska resident Eleanor T. Fisher, 72, died Jan. 26 at her home in Kalispell, Mont. A memorial Mass was celebrated Jan. 29 in Kalispell. Mrs. Fisher was born June 11, 1920, in Harrington, Wash., to John and Ada Tierney. She attended school in Harrington, and graduated from high school in 1938. Mrs. Fisher attended Kelsey-Baird Business College in Spokane, Wash. in 1941. From 1942 to 1945, she worked in Davenport, Wash., for the U.S. Soil Conservation Service. She was then employed by the Federal Aviation Administration in Anchorage from 1945 to 1955. On Feb. 13, 1954, Mrs. Fisher married Edward G. Fisher in Anchorage. When her husband retired in 1970, they moved from Anchorage to Kalispell. Mrs. Fisher loved to travel and visit family and friends. She will be missed by all, her family said. She is survived by her husband, Edward of Kalispell; a daughter, Nancy of Stevensville, Mont.; a son, Joseph of Kalispell; two sisters, June Yale of Tekoa, Wash., and Mildred Howard of Spokane; a brother, John Tierney of Spokane; and many nieces and nephews.
