  • Obituary: BUXTON -- Glenn G. Miller, aka 'Miller' or the 'Mayor of Buxton,' 70, passed away unexpectedly at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston on Nov. 8, 2014. He was born in Westbrook on May 4, 1944, the son of the late Percy Miller and Rena (Witham) Miller who resides in Gorham. Glenn graduated from Gorham High School in 1963. Glenn worked for Southworth Machine, Morin's Auto Body and after retiring from Nichols in Portland he owned and operated Miller Construction and contracted through RJ Grondin and Sons for close to 30 years. Glenn was introduced to his future wife Judy Nason by her lifelong friend Sharon Lowell. Glenn and Judy began their lives together on the Cressey Road in Gorham, and then spent the next 44 years together at the home they built in Buxton. He will always be remembered for his love of family and the enjoyment he had at NASCAR and Beech Ridge Motor Speedway events. In addition, he will be remembered for his daily trips to Tory Hill Diner and the Donut Hole along with traveling in his red Corvette. He was predeceased by his father; and two brothers, older brother Glenn who died at birth and a younger brother Gary. He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Judy; children Stacey Taylor of Dayton, and Colonel Stephen Miller and his wife Natalie of Carlisle Barracks, Pa.; mother Rena; sisters Shirley Beaumier of Gorham, and Judy Bress and her husband Dr. Jim Bress of Rochester, N.H.; grandchildren Nicole, Ronnie, Alex, Davie, Angela, and Victoria; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Stephen, and Sophia; special friends, Duke and Becky; and his dog, Blue. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, Nov. 12, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at the Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Rd. (Rt. 22) in Buxton. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Hollis Center Baptist Church, Rt. 202 in Hollis. Pastor Ron Sargent will officiate. Burial will be private at St. Mary's Cemetery in Biddeford. Online condolence messages can be submitted at www.mainefuneral.com.
