  • Obituary: GORHAM -- Percy R. Miller, 92, of Gorham died Thursday, June 28, 2012 at the Veteran's Hospice Center in Togus after a long illness. Born in North Limington, he was a son of Percy O. and Angie I. Eldridge Miller. In 1940, Mr. Miller began work for the State of Maine on a road crew. From 1941-1944, he worked in the South Portland Shipyard. During World War II, he served in the Army in Battery A, 43rd Field Artillery Batallion. From 1947-1984, he was the supervisor of the turning room for Saunders Brothers in Westbrook. He also held a second job as a self employed TV repairman. Mr. Miller was a dedicated husband and family man. As a hard worker, he worked two jobs for many years to provide for his family. In his early years, he enjoyed hunting. He was an avid lover of books and spent many hours reading. He was predeceased by a son, Gary W. Miller; and by a sister, Dorothy Miller Ward. Surviving him are his wife of 72 years, Rena M. Witham Miller of Gorham; his daughters, Shirley M. Beaumier of Gorham and Judy M. Bress and husband, James of Rochester, N.H., his son, Glenn G. Miller and wife, Judy of Buxton; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
