Born February 9, 1936, in Upper Kennetcook, she was a daughter of the late William and Viola (Miller) Hanes. Neta enjoyed travelling and going to card games. She loved cooking for family get-togethers and will be dearly missed by them all. Surviving are daughters, Lorraine (Malcolm "Micky") Royles, South Maitland; Janice Burns, Upper Kennetcook; sons, Wayde (Debbie) and Tim (Kim), both of Upper Kennetcook; grandchildren, Tricia, Lyn-Ann, Shauna, Justin, and Tessa; great- grandson, Braden; brothers, Bobby (Norma) and Kerry (Vera Lynn); several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, George; son, Gordon in infancy; sister, Thelma; brothers, Arthur, Lawrence, and Lewis. Visitation 7-9 p.m. today and a memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 1, at 2 p.m., both in J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Highway 354, Kennetcook, Rev. Gloria McClure-Fraser officiating.
