Obituary: Halifax Herald 7/23/2007
HARVIE, Donald Oswell - 81, East Gore, passed away July 22, 2007, at home. Born in West Gore, he was a son of the late Leonard and Margaret (Hall) Harvie. Don was a member of Wellsford Lodge No. 26, Windsor. He was past president of East Gore Community Hall. Don worked for Canada Cement, Brookfield, for 26 years retiring in 1991. Earlier in life, Don enjoyed the woods and hunting. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, the former Edna Dalrymple; sons, Garth (Janice), Colin (Jennie) and Kevin (Gloria), all of East Gore; grandchildren, Rhonda (Kevin), Melissa, Calvin and Aimee and great-grandchildren, Colby, Annalise and Alyssa; sister, Ruth (Foster) Roblee, Dartmouth. Don was predeceased by his brother, Robert.
Cremation has taken place with visitation 7-9 p.m. today and a memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 24, at 2 p.m., Chuck Patterson, LPM officiating, both in J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Hwy. 354, Kennetcook, with a private family interment of ashes in East Gore Cemetery.
