He came to Craik in 1909, later moving to the Penzance district and continued his home here with the exception of a few years spend in Davidson. On September 5, 1917 he was united in marriage to Mable Rae Lane of Penzance. To this union 9 children were born Erle Penzance, Donald, Glen, Bruce, Mrs. C(Mona Hatton) all of Winnipeg, John Mrs. E(Ione)Baker of Saskatoon, Anna Jean who passed away 20 April 1936. Mrs. Mable Currie passed away 5 October 1936. Mr Currie was predeceased by his parents, 5 sisters, 5 brothers. On November 6 1958 he married Inger Marie Erlandson and has lived in the Village of Penzance since. Mr. Currie entered the University Hospital in Saskatoon December 16, where he passed away December 30, 1962 after a serious operation. Funeral services were held January 2, 1962 from Penzance United Church with McKague's Funeral Home in charge. Rev. A. Stanislav assisted with Rev. R. Yauk conducted the services with burial in the Davidson Cemetery. Pallbearers were Earl McLellan, Harry Wills,Earl Spencer, Roy Willouby, John Wilson, Henry Measner. Honorary pallbearers were William Poot, Ray Trips, James Drummond, Al.McCord, H.A.Woolsey, Al. McLennan. Mr. Currie served in 2 world wars, and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and a past chairman of the Wheat Pool, He was a quiet unassuming man, a kind and loving father and husband and will be greatly missed by his wife 2 daughters, 6 sons 24 grandchildren and one sister Mrs. Peter Keith of Mount Forest Ontario.
