  • Obituary: Halifax Chronicle Herald Robert Carter Taylor, 79, 61 Tannery Road, Lunenburg, died January 8, 1997, in Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Born in Bridgewater, he was a son of the late Robert and Mary (O'Brien) Taylor. In his earlier years, he was employed with the Lunenburg Foundry and Engineering and then worked as a self-employed marine diesel mechanic until his retirement. He was an honourary member of the Lunenburg and District Fire Department, and was a member of St. John's Anglican Church, Lunenburg. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving are daughters, Wendy (Mrs. Philip Daniels), Lunenburg; Faye Forbes, Lower Sackville; five grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Elizabeth Lucy King; sister, Elizabeth. Visitation 7-9 p.m. today in Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg. Funeral 2 p.m. Friday in St. John's Anglican Church, Lunenburg, Archdeacon Reginald MacDonald officiating. Burial in Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg.
