Obituary: COULTER, Estelle Jean - 94, Shiretown Nursing Home, Pictou, and formerly of Bayhead, Colchester Co., passed away
May 8, 2008, in the nursing home. Born in Glace Bay, April 4, 1914, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Sabrina
Dobson. The family moved back to the Dobson farm in Bayhead when Estelle was four months old. She received her
education in Bayhead School and then attended Provincial Normal College in Truro to become a teacher, and taught for
34 years in Cumberland, Colchester and Pictou counties. In 1942 she married Logan Coulter, who predeceased her in
1997, and she was also predeceased by an infant son, as well as two sisters and two brothers. She was a member of
Bayhead Union Church where she had been treasurer for over 40 years and organist for many more years. She was a past
member of Purity Rebekah Lodge, Malagash, Mary L. Clark UCW, Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary, past
president of the Auxiliary, and was treasurer for many years in each of those organizations. Visitation will be today from
2-4 p.m. in Coulter's Funeral Home, 48 Riverside Dr., Tatamagouche. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 10, in
Bayhead Union Church, Rev. Sandra Carruthers officiating. Interment will be in Union Church Cemetery. In lieu of
flowers, memorial donations can be made to a charity of choice.
