Lightbody, 81, of Westborough, died on Thursday, June 5, 2008 in Marlborough. He was the husband of Marjorie (O'Brien) Lightbody. Born in Westborough, he was the son of the late Winfred and L. Gertrude (Weymouth) Lightbody. He was educated in Westborough schools and attended Burdett College in Boston and New England School of Accounting. Mr. Lightbody was employed as the office manager for Tuft's Machine Shop and then for Marlborough Hospital. In later years he was the Westborough Town Accountant retiring in 1992. He was an active member of the Evangelical Congregational Church where he served as a deacon. He also served as the treasurer for the Council on Aging at the Westborough Senior Center and was a member of the Massachusetts Association of State Retiree's. George has lived for over 70 years as an insulin dependant diabetic and would like to pass on his encouragement and support to young people with the same condition. In addition to his wife he is survived by three sons, Mark W. Lightbody of Natick, Jon C. Lightbody and his wife, Susan, of Westborough and Paul T. Lightbody and his wife, Laurie, of Westborough; seven grandchildren, Jon, Danielle, Sarah, Ben, Ryan, Amy and Lauren and one great granddaughter, Kayliana; and many nieces and nephews.
