  • Obituary: Coulter's Funeral Home, Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia Buckler, David Eliakim - 80, Tatamagouche, and formerly of Truro Heights, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2015 with his family by his side. Born in Tatamagouche he was a son of the late Burton L. and Vera (Mingo) Buckler. David spent most of his working career with Transport Canada. He had a life-long love for music and was well-known for his talents as a fiddler. He entertained a lot of people for many years at old time dances and kitchen parties throughout Northern Nova Scotia and was the recipient of many awards for his musical talents. David was an avid deer and moose hunter, trapper and fisherman. He passed down these hobbies to his son and some of his grandsons. He loved to be outdoors and in the wilderness. He is survived by daughter, Julie (Steve) Hardiman, Whites Lake, NS; daughter, Brenda Hardiman, Bible Hill, NS; son, Steven (Patty), Moncton, NB; and daughter, Lori Buckler, Amherst, NS; grandchildren, Aaron, Kirsten, Eric, Philip, Nichele, Jason, Peter, Jay, David, Samantha, Stephanie, Alex, Heather; great grandchildren, Sophie, Kristina, Henry and Audrey; brothers, Lawrence (Jeannie), Dartmouth and Jerry (Suebin), Ottawa; sisters, Shirley (Bill) Buchanan and Eileen Gilman, both of Ottawa; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his long-time partner, Corrine Trites; brother, Ronald. The family would like to invite those who wish to pay their respects and share memories during a time of visitation from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 7, 2015 at Coulter's Funeral Home (902-657-3288), 48 Riverside Dr., Tatamagouche.
