After receiving his education at Rindge Tech in Cambridge he joined the U.S. Navy and served in Casco Bay aboard the U.S.S. Denabola. He also later served during the Korean War on the U.S.S. Wright. Mr. Palazzo married Gloria Mattatall of Portland on Dec. 28, 1946. Mr. Palazzo served with the Portland Fire Department for twenty-three years. He also worked for Cushman Bakery, Mattatall Realty, F.S. Plummer and was co- owner of Tallwood Cottages in Casco and Johnson's Trailer Park in Big Pine Key, Fla. He was a member of the Kora Shrine for fifty years and the Royal Guard for twenty-five years. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gloria Palazzo of Portland; a son, Anthony J. Palazzo of Portland; a daughter, Debra L. Porter of Falmouth; two brothers, Frederick Palazzo of Woburn, Mass. and Frank Palazzo of Revere, Mass.; two grandchildren, Scott Caron of Chicago, Ill. and Jennifer Small of Freeport. He spent many summers on Sebago Lake with his family, whom he enjoyed most of all.
