  • Obituary: It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Edna Blanche Daniels, age 98, of Truro. Edna passed away peacefully with her family by her bedside, on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 in Gables Lodge, Amherst. Born in Middleton, she was a daughter of the late Edgar and Ella (MacNeil) Power. Edna was a Beta Sigma Pi sister for over 50 years. She was adherent to First United Church in Truro. Edna loved to volunteer and was very active in the Mental Health Association. She was a "Big Sister" with the Boys and Girls Club in Truro. Edna was a businesswoman who owned E. Daniels Flowers for many years. "Thank you for showing us that women can be strong and yet elegant tough and compassionate and a homemaker and a business person simultaneously. Edna was ahead of her time. Now go see those you have missed so dearly!" She will be dearly missed by her children, Scott (Diane), Shinimicas; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Kerry), Trish (John), Kerry, Justin (Gillian), and Grey; great- grandchildren, Jacqueline, MacKenzie, Landon, Alex, Cameron and Blake; nephew, Raymond (Debbie) Fiske. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank; son, Gary; daughter, Velma; sisters Florence, Helen, and Ella. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst (902-667-8777), where visi- tation will take place on Wednesday, September 26th from noon until 2 p.m., followed immediately at 2 p.m. by her funeral service, Rev. Dr. Dan Green officiating. Burial will take place in Lawrencetown at a later date. Family flowers only please, should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to LA Animal Shelter or the charity of your choice.
