Born in Dayspring, she was a daughter of the late Phinnie and Emma (Naugler) Snyder. Doris was a member of St. Matthew's Anglican Church and a former member of the Anglican Ladies Guild. Doris was a gracious lady and a great listener. She supported and loved her large extended family and was always there to share a meal and old times with her many friends. Her grandchildren thought of her as the coolest grandmom "Cybergrammy", who learned to communicate in their language on her computer. She enjoyed time in her gardens, sewing, making crafts, camping, Frenchy's shopping and going to yard sales, and also socializing with friends. Doris' vibrant love of life, family and friends, and the community at large were so important to her.
