  • Obituary: Mrs. Mary E. Schmeisser, 57, of Middle LaHave, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, October 21, 1980, at the Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg after a short illness. Born in Dayspring, she was a daughter of the late Phinnie and Emma (Naugler) Snyder. She was a member of Woodbine Rebekah Lodge No. 53, Upper LaHave; the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 24, Bridgewtaer; and St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church. Surviving are her husband, Ross; a son, Robert, Middle LaHave; daughter, Jane, Halifax; six sisters, Delia (Mrs. Ernest Fraser), Middle LaHave; Thelma (Mrs. Carmen Reid), Halifax; Kathleen (Mrs. Clarence Mailman), Ottawa; Doris (Mrs. Harry Hayward), Upper LaHave; Jean (Mrs. Gerald Corkum), Dayspring; and Karen (Mrs. David Wilkie), Bridgewater; two brothers, Reginald, Dayspring; and Harold, Bridgewater; and two grandchildren, Sandra and Dean. She was predeceased by two brothers, George and Arnold. Funeral service was held at St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church, Middle LaHave on Friday, October 24 at 2 p.m. Archdeacon Gregory Pritchard, assisted by Rev. Cochran, conducted the service.
