Friends may call at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, Friday, from 11 AM to 9 PM. Services will be at the funeral home Saturday, June 30, at 11 AM. Pastor Bob Baugher, of Calvary United Methodist Church, Toledo, will officiate. Burial will be in Lulu Cemetery, Ida Township. Lonnie was born January 31, 1957, in Toledo, to John "Jack" and Norma J. (Harris) Wertenberger. A 1975 Ida High School graduate, he married Brenda Gates, April 20, 1979, in Temperance. Lonnie was a machine operator for General Motors, Toledo, for 31 years. He was a member of the Ida Township Volunteer Fire Department for twenty-five years, and had served as Captain and Assistant Chief. He also was a member of the UAW, Local 14, Toledo, and was active in the T.H.A.N.K.S. Organization. Lonnie loved hunting, fishing, camping, four wheeling, and being with his kids and grandson. Survivors include: his wife Brenda; his mother, Norma; sons, Timothy and Dustin; daughter, Sarah; brothers, Edward (Cindy) and James; sisters, Connie (Bruce) Bamm and Jackie (Jeff) Kampkowski; and grandson, Jackson. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and father.
