Obituary: Kenneth Leroy Shavalia, 78, of Adrian, Michigan, died February 25, at Jackson County Medical Care Facility. Ken was born May 11, 1943, to Arnold and Delores Shavalia of Ann Arbor, Michigan. Ken graduated from Ann Arbor High School and joined the Navy in 1963. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He married Kathleen Stegg in 1979 and settled down with her and her two children, Angie and John. Ken is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Kathleen, brother Franklyn and sister, Shirley Taylor. Ken is survived by his two younger sisters, Cheryl (Lance) Brown and Candice (David) Shavalia, Angie (Mike) Curtiss, John Routly, numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends he gathered over his lifetime. In addition to his family and friends, Ken loved fast cars, pretty women, U of M football, playing the lottery and his fur babies. A celebration of Ken's life will be held on Tuesday, March 22, from 1:00-4:00 pm at the American Legion Post 97, at 904 N. Main St., Adrian, MI 49221. Ken's final resting place will be at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, thank a veteran for his or her service. Arrangements entrusted to J.
