He was born Oct. 8, 1929 in Middlebourne, W.Va., son of the late James Edwin and Opal Jemison Jones. He served in the U. S. Air Force and was a graduate of Glenville State College with a degree in Education. He retired from the Department of Health & Human Resources. Billy enjoyed WVU and Steelers football, gardening, golf and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Bill is survived by a step-daughter, Melissa Stackpole (Randy) of Ohio; a step-son, James "Matt" Hill (Kim) of Mineral Wells; and eleven grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Jones; and a brother. A Memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green Street, Parkersburg, W.Va. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
