Nathan was born in Monterey, California, on March 18, 1968, the son of Joan Fenwick Christy of Portsmouth and the late A. Taylor Christy. Nathan graduated from Portsmouth High School with the class of 1986. After military service with the United States Army, he attended the New England Culinary Institute graduating in 1998. He was a chef at the James Beard award winning Restaurant, the Wildwood, in Portland, Oregon for eight years before returning to New Hampshire where he was a chef at a number of well known seacoast restaurants. For the last five years he was an executive chef at Liberty Mutual in Dover. He was predeceased by his brother, Alex Christy, who died in 2009. A memorial service will be held at 4:00PM on Monday, November 17th at St. John's Episcopal Church on Chapel St. in Portsmouth. Family flowers only.
