Merrigan Sr., 71, of North Providence passed away on Tuesday, October 18th, 2022. Born in Boston, MA, he was the son of Edward P. Merrigan of Quincy, MA and the late Virginia (Farrington) Merrigan. He grew up in Randolph, but has resided in Rhode Island since 1987. Besides his father, he is survived by two sons, Thomas E. Merrigan Jr. of Lincoln, RI, and Patrick Merrigan of Needham, MA; a grandson, Zachary Merrigan; and a sister, Christine Adams of New Hampshire. In his youth, Tom enjoyed camping and was prominently involved in the Boy Scouts, earning the rank of Eagle Scout. He shared this passion with his sons and went on many Boy Scout camping trips with them. Tom loved spending summers with family on Cape Cod, dinners on Federal Hill, and watching Boston sports teams. You could always find Tom passionately talking about James Bond movies, the music of Frank Sinatra, or a recent boxing match. Tom graduated from Northeastern University and spent his career as a sales representative for Nabisco and Altadis USA. The funeral will be 9:45 am Friday, October 21st from the A.A. Mariani & Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins Street, Providence, RI, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St. Ann Church, 280 Hawkins Street, Providence, RI.
