He was a past member of the Windsor Gyro Club, honorary member of the Windsor Fire Department, and justice of the peace. He was town clerk of Berwick for 6 years and of Windsor for 33 years, retiring in 1958. He leaves his wife, the former Alice Mae Sulis; 2 sons: James, Windsor; Samuel, Toronto; 4 daughters: Gladys, Mrs H Newkirk, Little Harbor; Joyce, Mrs S Jewers, Dartmouth; Marian, Mrs H McQuade, and Jean, both of Toronto; 2 sisters: Joyce, Mrs H McDaniel, Stellarton, and Margaret, Annapolis Royal; 13 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren.
