  • Obituary: The Pictou Advocate March 23,1988 Charles Robert (Bob) MacDonald, 53, of Pictou, died Sunday, Mar. 20, in Victoria General Hospital. Born in Pictou, he was a son of Orphy (MacPhail) MacDonald and the late Maurice MacDonald. He served with the Canadian Army and for more than 20 years, he worked in the Yukon and Labrador as a trucker and heavy equipment operator. Besides his mother in Pictou, he is survived by ex-wife, Leigh Wildman, Surrey, B.C.; three sons, Maurice, Logan Lake, B.C.; Robert and Wayne, both of Surrey; two sisters, Gail (Mrs Donald Rutledge), Oakville, Ont.; Emma Lee (Mrs. James MacCormack), Antigonish; four brothers, Bill, Portland, Ore.; Winston, Ottawa; Wayne, Vernon Bridge, P.E.I.; Dewey, Pictou; and five grandchildren. He was predeceased by his second wife, the former Lydia Langille. Funeral service was held Tuesday, Mar. 22, in Pictou United Church, Rev. Peter Stewart MacDonald officiating. Burial was in Seaview Cemetery, Pictou
