He lived his life with all his heart and our mixed up family of his, hers, ours and theirs will just never be the same without him. Lewis Carl Morrison passed peacefully February 12th, 2023 at the age of 78. Our mom Margaret, his loving wife of nearly 49 years was by his side. Lewis was born in Pictou Co., NS on March 19th, 1944; he was the baby of his family. Lewis' first love in life had to be for cars! He completed his first motor change at the age of 12 and was driving well before the age of 16. Without doubt he had hundreds of cars over the years and he could tell you anything you wanted to know about any one of them. Lewis always said, you can have any car in the yard that you want, as long as it's a FORD! If it's a mustang, that's even better. The "Ford / no Chevy's the best papa" became a long running joke with him and his grandkids for sure. Lewis left home as a boy and followed his sisters to Hamilton ON. In 1963 he married the late Eva (Grey), and together they brought his first two children Wendy (Lloyd), and Carl (Kelly) into the world. Less than 10 short years later they moved back to NS where Eva had passed away. In 1972, Lewis met Margaret and they fell in love with one of those lasts forever kind of ways. They married in 1974. With Margaret came Richard (Rhonda) and Charles (Dawn). Then along came Angela (Anthony Smith). Their family of his, hers and theirs soon grew again to include sons Darryl (Lorrie) and Jack (Josephine). Lewis loved music and he loved to dance. He loved playing cards with friends and boardgames, and silly songs. He could often be found singing "The WitchDoctor" and playing devilish pranks to get a laugh. He was a collector of many things. He had many adventures in life, lots of fun with cars and boats and he loved working with his hands. He traveled most times West for many years working as a Journeyman PipeFitter, oftentimes as foreman on the jobsites. He worked as a mechanic and volunteer firefighter for many years in Louisdale, CB. In North Wallace where he and Margaret built their life together, he had an auto salvage, an auto body repair and mechanic shop and tow truck service as well. Sometimes his work would flow into the house from the garage, and it wouldn't be unusual to find Lewis working on a motor or a something greasy and messy, smack tab in the middle of the house. Mom would have to use her "garage talk" to send him packing back out to the garage. Lewis loved television and movies, so much in fact he opened a video rental store in the 80's so he could always get his hands on the newest releases. Later in his retirement, he enjoyed woodworking and spent countless hours in his basement shop crafting beautiful pieces of art which we his children will cherish forever. Until much later in life when he actually swallowed one whole, Lewis was never seen without a toothpick in his mouth. He could maneuver that toothpick through meals and kisses just like a magician. Dad had the deepest of love and sympathy for animals of any kind. His family has grown over the years to include 14 grandchildren whom he loved dearly; Robby, Carly, Cassidy, Gregory, Alisha, Eric, Nicholas, Matthew, Lucas, Darci, Jaxlyn, Garrett, Zander and Cooper. His heart grew even bigger for his 7 great grandchildren; Alexis, Payton, Camden, Sadie, Blake, Emalin & Brynn. Of his family, Lewis was predeceased by parents, Kenneth & Susan, mother & father in-law Bill & Emma MacDonald, brother George, son & daughter in law Darryl & Lorrie, sisters Eva, Elizabeth, Gertrude, brothers in law Gerald, Ted, Roy, Tommy, Ronald, 4 nephews and 1 niece. Besides his wife, children, grand and great grandchildren he leaves behind his sister Dollena, sisters in laws Anne (Chuck) and Theresa, brother in law Tom (Karen) and many loved nieces and nephews as well. A most grateful thank you to the staff at the Willow Lodge Home for Special Care, where for the past few years Lewis had been a resident. Special thanks also to Martha Ferguson (Palliative Care). Ew Ee Ew Ah Ah to you Dad, we hope you are riding those fast cars and sharing a laugh with those who left before you. Until we meet again.
