  • Obituary: THOMPSON, EVA JULIA-- December 27, 1937- November 16, 2012. It is with great sadness, that the family of Eva J. Thompson of Fox Harbour, announce the sudden passing in North Cumberland Memorial Hospital on Friday, November 16, 2012. She was the oldest daughter of of the late Kenneth and Susan (Langille) Morrison. Eva worked at various jobs, but she found her calling when she entered into a nursing career, she was very passionate about her work at Sunset Adult Residential Center where she was employed for several years, until she was forced into early retirement due to illness. She enjoyed bingo, her work and fellowship with the Pugwash Legion Auxillary, her craftsmanship in making beautiful quilts of all shapes and sizes, sewing and alterations of her unlimited clothing, in her earlier years. She enjoyed walking the shores of Fox Harbour and North Wallace digging Quahogs. She loved spending time with her family and pets (Tigger and Baby), so proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her children, Kenny (Carol), Junior (Nancy), Belinda (Brian ) Jackson, Steven (Mary-Lynn) and her adopted daughter Jane Isenor; 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Elizabeth Morris, Gertrude (Ronnie) Cook, Dollena Mackenzie; brother, Lewis (Marg) Morrison. She will be missed by Tigger (dog) and Baby (cat). She was predeceased by husband Theodore; children, Star and Bobby; grandchildren, Katlin and Joshua Dotten (Belinda); oldest brother George Morrison. A memorial service and a Ladies Auxiliary Tribute and a celebration of life will be held in St. Andrews United Church at Fox Harbour on Tuesday, November 20 at 2 p.m., reception downstairs to follow., provided by the U.C.W. Special thanks to Dr. Peter Blakie and staff, especially the palliative care nursing team, for their excellent care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Andrews United Church and the North Cumberland Memorial Hospital, Palliative Care Unit.
