He was employed with D & B Roofers and at South Cumberland Memorial Hospital in the maintenance department for many years. He is survived by daughter, Deborah Beal (Herb), Parrsboro; sons, David (Anne, Londonderry; Bob, Jay, Gerry, all of Parrsboro; sisters, Orpha Dempsey (Ralph), New Liskeard, Ont.; Marge Gingras, Estevan, Sask.; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Jean Taylor; sisters, Pauline, Beryl, Muriel, Alfreda; brothers, Harold, Roland, Ralph, Lester and Gerald. Visitation 7-9 p.m. today in Smith's Funeral Home, Parrsboro, where funeral will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Rev. Greg Doyle officiating. Burial in St. George's Anglican Cemetery.
