Obituary: The Daily Telegraph Saint John,NB October 28 1882
R.J. Hopkins, conductor on C.P. Railway died at Winnipeg, Manitoba of lung fever on 17th inst. He was the third s/o daniel hopkins of Aroostock Junction (Victoria Co.) and had been in Manitoba for four years. He and A.W. Perley ran the passenger train west of Winnipeg for two years, both being from Victoria Co. The body of the deceased was brought home for burial last week.

d. Winnipeg, Manitoba, 17th Oct., Robert J. HOPKINS s/o Deacon HOPKINS of Aroostock (victoria Co.) and conductor on C.P. Railway, age 31, left aged father and mother, two sisters and four brothers. His remains were brought home and buried in the Baptist graveyard at Andover.
