  • Obituary: The death of Beldon JOUDRIE occurred at his home on January 28, at the age of 74 years. He had been in ill health for the past year. Born in Barrachois, Mr. JOUDRIE, was the son of the late John and Mary (LANGILLE) JOUDRIE. He was a fisherman all his life. He was a member of Barrachois United Church. Surviving, besides his wife, the former Grace MOODY of Wallace, are five sons, Rosevil and Stanley, Tatamagouche; Henry, Ontario; Truman and Billy, Alberta; five daughters, Clara (Mrs. Bill BUCKLER), Tatamagouche; Viola (Mrs. Duncan MacBURNIE), Tatamagouche; Hilda (Mrs. Hiram CONNOLLY), Jessie (Mrs. James LAURIE) and Phyllis (Mrs. Ronald CAMERON), all of Middleton; 28 grandchildren, one great grandchild and one sister, Mrs. Agnes DEBARES, Guysborough. The largely attended funeral was held from the Barrachois United Church Monday, January 30 with the Rev. Mr. FRASER, assisted by Rev. Mr. MATHESON, officiating. Hymns sung were "The old Rugged Cross and a solo "Good Night and Good Morning" by Jack COULTER. Pallbearers were Henry FRASER, George FRASER, Andrew CHAMBERS, Thorpe MOODY, James FLEURY and Alex MacDONALD. The many and beautiful floral tributes bore silent testimony of the high esteem in which the deceased was held. Interment was in Lockerby Cemetery, Tatamagouche.
