  • Obituary: Warwick, Ruth Marion (Terry), 92, Truro, passed away in her sleep in the early hours of Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at the Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in West New Annan, Colchester County, October 7, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Annie (Johnston) Terry. Living in New Annan most of her life, she retired to West Leicester, Cumberland Co. where she lived for thirteen years and made many long lasting friendships. She loved to quilt, knit socks and mittens until her eyesight diminished in 2003. She has lived in Truro for the past nineteen years and made many new friends here, as well, she was a past member of the West New Annan United Church and the U.C.W. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by sons John (Vivian) of West Leicester, William (Sandra) of Truro, Dickson with whom she resided in Truro; daughter-in-law Veronica Warwick of Windsor, ON; grandchildren, Dwayne (Judi) Warwick of Truro, Deiter (Krista) Warwick of Oxford, Sheri (Dave) Hurley of Windsor, ON, Christine (Grady) Potts of St. Clair Shores, Michigan; 7 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Wilmot Warwick (July 1977) and her son James (Dec. 2009); 2 grandsons, Michael and Mark; great-grandson Gary Warwick; 5 sisters, Esther Johnston, Bessie Blake, Ethel Mumford, Edith Terry, Grace Wynn; 5 brothers Roy, George, Erdon, Boyd, Walter. Visitation will take place on Friday, March 16th from 2-4 and from 7-9 pm in the Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. A graveside committal will follow in the spring in Bellgift Cemetery, West New Annan. Donations in Ruth's memory may be made to the Victoria Order of Nurses, Suite 5, 30 Duke Street, Truro, NS B2N 2A1.
