Mom was the daughter of George and Melena Boomer. Beside her parents, she was predeceased by husband, Reid and son, Gerald; Brothers, Reg, Fred, Leonard and Buddy; Sisters, Gertrude and Freda. She is survived by sister, Muriel Stroud. Mom loved knitting and old time music. She was the first on the dance floor, always ready for a polka or foxtrot. She enjoyed summer at the cottage and the time spent in Florida. Beyond any doubt her greatest pride came in the form of her children, Dennis (Cathy), Brenda (Frank) Smith, Gerald (predeceased), Debbie, Becky (Greg) Ash, Lynn (John) Roy, thirteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren. She was a proud mother, grandmother and "GG". We will miss her plum loaf, relish, fudge. biscuits and donuts, but mostly we will miss her. Visitation will be held on Tuesday Nov. 6 from 6-8 pm with memorial service on Wednesday Nov. 7 at 10 am in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with Rev. Lori Ramsay officiating. Reception to follow at the Funeral Home. Interment will take place at the Bible Hill Cemetery, following the reception. Donations may be made to Bible Hill Cemetery or to a charity of your choice.
